Concerns on Iran’s nuclear program
Rafael Gosscy also expressed new concerns on Iran’s nuclear program, especially 60 percent of the reserves of uranium.
Iran is the only country that does not have nuclear weapons, but it is promoting uranium at this level, causing important concerns about the potential weapon development and construction.
Rafael Gosscy said, “Iran says it has announced all the nuclear materials, activities and places required under its NPT security agreement. However, this statement does not match the conclusions of the agency, agency’s conclusions of the uranium particles of anthropological origin at undeclared places in Iran.
The Director General emphasized the need for more transparency about Iran’s nuclear program, and also emphasized that to consider Iran’s nuclear activities to be peaceful, issues of unresolved security measures would be resolved.

Increasing role of nuclear energy
Rafael Gosscy also underlined the widespread initiatives of IAEA, including his recent visit to Japan’s Fukushima Daiyi Nuclear Power Station.
He has pointed to the growing role of nuclear power in meeting energy requirements, in view of increasing energy demand globally.
He said that according to IAEA estimates, by the year 2050, the global nuclear power generation capacity is expected to increase by two and a half times.
